Black Orchid was opened on Friday 13th April 1986 by Kate and Craig Benson in Stamford Walk ..now the site of BOO! (Black Orchid Occasions) Our daywear ,and accessories shop is now 100 yards down the road at
7 St.Marys St Stamford with added Aladdin's Cave , Gifts and Interiors room , and probably the best selection of jewellery in the area
Kate is the brains of the operation in charge of buying , display , windows and reorganisation
Pre Black Orchid she worked for Monsoon as a Manager then as Area Manager and in their Wholesale department , she has a degree in textile design .
Craig does

and is by and large purely decorative , before Black Orchid he was a primary school teacher in London and has a slightly less useful degree in Theology.
